How Anvil Scan collects, uses and protects information on this website and in Sentinel ID+.
Last updated: November 7, 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Anvil Scan ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit anvilscan.com, contact us or request a demo. It also explains how ID data is handled when a business uses Sentinel ID+.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details you enter in a form, such as your name, work email, phone number and business name.
- Details about your venue, such as business type and number of entrances.
- Anything you write in a message to us.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data, such as your browser type, device type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit.
- An approximate location derived from your IP address.
3. How we use information
- To reply to your enquiry and schedule a demo.
- To provide, support and improve our products and website.
- To keep our website secure and prevent misuse.
- To send you product updates, only where you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
4. ID data processed by Sentinel ID+
When a business uses Sentinel ID+ to check IDs, that business decides what ID data is processed and for how long. In that role, the business is responsible for the data, and Anvil Scan processes it only on the business's behalf and instructions.
- Age-check-only mode shows the result and stores nothing afterwards.
- Record keeping is optional. Businesses choose what is kept, such as scan time, result, entrance and, if enabled, the ID photo.
- Retention is set by the business, with automatic deletion.
- Security includes encryption on the device and in transit, role-based access and an audit trail.
If your ID was scanned at a venue and you have questions about that data, please contact the venue directly. We will help the venue respond to your request.
5. Sharing
We share personal information only when needed, for example with:
- Service providers who host our website, send email or support our operations, under contracts that protect your information.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect rights, safety and security.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganized.
6. Cookies

7. Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit certain uses. You can also opt out of marketing emails at any time.
